Rotherham Ladies to Play Inaugural Home Development Game

Just over twelve months ago Rotherham Ladies Rugby started with Coach Jo Clark and one player.

In a short time they’ve come a long way and on Wednesday November 15th Rotherham Ladies will host their inaugural friendly in a development game against Ossett Ladies.

Kick-off is at 8pm in the Rotherham Phoenix training facility on Herringthorpe Playing Fields, a facility that is allowing the Rotherham Phoenix Club to expand participation in the game and specifically to offer Ladies training every Monday night at 7pm, where new players of any ability and whether they have played rugby or not, are always welcome.

Ladies Coach Jo Clark said, “We’ve a great bunch of players who are friendly, sociable and always support each other.

“As well as a great social side, rugby is great for fitness and building confidence and is growing at a fast pace locally and nationally.”

The Ladies team has also received a boost from Barratt Homes agreeing to be shirt sponsors, making sure they can take to the field in Rotherham colours.

Any women interested in taking up rugby can contact Jo Clark on: 07983 986725.
