Another two Titans extend stay at Clifton Lane

Rotherham Titans are pleased to announce prop Toby Williams and centre Joe Barker have agreed terms which will see them remain at Clifton Lane for the 2017/18 Championship season.

Toby Williams, 30, is currently Rotherham’s longest serving player and his new deal will see him enter his fifth season with the South Yorkshire based side, having joined the Titans from West Yorkshire outfit Otley ahead of the 2013/14 season.

Toby has 71 appearances under his belt and has scored three tries during his time at Clifton Lane.

The former Strongman turned loose head prop, is a proud Yorkshireman and has previously competed in Rugby League for Keighley Cougars and York City Knights, as well as representing Yorkshire Counties in the 15 man game.

Toby is extremely popular and highly regarded by both supporters and his team mates. His no-nonsense approach on the field of play make him very effective at scrum-time and a powerful weapon with ball in hand as he makes the hard yards.

The faithful at Clifton Lane will be delighted to hear that Toby will be pulling on a Titans jersey once again next season.

The news of centre Joe Barker also committing his future to the Titans is seen as a massive positive for the club.

Barker, 25, will start his third season with the Titans next year, having joined the club from Leeds Carnegie in the summer of 2015, having previously played in the East of the County with Hull Ionians.

Wakefield born, Barker has made 35 appearances to date and scored four tries during his spell with the club.

Joe has been one of the Titans most consistent performers over the last two seasons. His defensive work is outstanding; this combined with his communication and distribution skills make him an extremely valued member of the Titans set-up.

Again, the supporters at Clifton Lane will be delighted to have another Yorkshireman proudly wearing the shirt next season.
