Titans look to make it 5 in a row

Titans will look to continue their good recent form in National 1 by making it 5 wins in a row when they entertain Plymouth Albion on Saturday afternoon; kick-off at Clifton Lane is 2pm.

Albion however will have their own agenda and will look to draw level on points with Rotherham in the league table by overturning the South Yorkshire side on home soil.

The teams last met when both were competing in the Greene King IPA Championship in January 2015. On that particularly wet afternoon at Brickfields Albion ran out 22-8 victors.

The sides have met on 26 previous occasions in the league, dating back to September 1994 when Rotherham ran out 23-15 winners in National League 4; whilst the overall head-to-head in the league sees Rotherham hold the advantage with 15 wins, 10 defeats and 1 draw.

Going into this week’s clash Rotherham have named the same 20 that performed so well last week at Esher in what was an outstanding 45-15 victory.

Commenting ahead of the game Titans’ Joe Barker explained, “We are aware that Plymouth have a strong pack of forwards, they always have and they pride themselves on that. They’ll look to dominate at the set piece and in the mauls and we’ll need to be strong to face up to that challenge. They also have some great experience in the backline and in Dan Mugford at 10 they have one of the best in the division.

“However, we will be prepared for what they bring and we will be fully focused on what we want to achieve in the game. We are delighted to be back at home and hopefully we can put in another big performance at Clifton Lane and send the fans home happy.”
