Titans aim to keep Clifton Lane a fortress

Rotherham Titans take on Darlington Mowden Park this weekend with the ambition of maintaining a 100% win record at Clifton Lane this season; kick-off on Saturday is 2pm.

Following home victories over Sale FC and Cambridge, Titans are aware if they are going to mount a challenge at the top end of the division their home form is going to be vital.

Paradoxically, Mowden Park’s two victories this term have come away from home; so someone’s record will have to go on Saturday.

Like Rotherham, the North East side is familiar with suffering narrow defeats; the 3 losses they have sustained are by 1, 3 and 4 points respectively and had things gone slightly differently for them, they would now be sitting unbeaten at the top of the pile.

Going into what is expected to be a tough clash, Rotherham have made six changes to the starting XV which narrowly lost 15-11 away to Birmingham Moseley last time out.

Along the backline Tom Bacon returns to the side at full back for Sam Allan who left the pitch at Moseley with a head injury. On the wing Connor Field comes in for Dan Leake, Harry Dunne is also re-called into the centres for Tom Williams and at scrum half Connor Dever is given the nod over Sam Boxhall.

In the pack, fresh from making his 100th appearance for the club Toby Williams embarks onto his next century and starts at loosehead for Harry Whitfield, whilst Keifer Laxton comes into the back row for Lewis Wilson as he moves into the second row for Kieran Frost.

Titans: 15 Tom Bacon, 14 Ben Robbins, 13 Jamie Cooke, 12 Harry Dunne, 11 Connor Field, 10 Sam Hollingsworth, 9 Connor Dever, 1 Toby Williams, 2 Harry Newborn, 3 Reece Ward, 4 Elliott Ward, 5 Lewis Wilson, 6 Zak Poole (Capt.), 7 Keifer Laxton, 8 Anthony Maka.
