Rotherham Titans are primed and ready for their Christmas fixture this weekend, when they travel to Sale FC looking to register back-to-back wins for the first time since March; kick-off at Heywood Road on Saturday is 2pm.
Following Titans’ last-gasp win over Canterbury at Clifton Lane seven days ago, they will now look to back that up in an attempt to narrow the gap at the bottom of the table, before heading off into the Christmas break.
However, their task won’t be an easy one as the Cheshire based side have a good record at home. Impressive victories over top-end sides this season include Old Elthamians, Blackheath, Darlington Mowden Park and league leaders Richmond.
Nevertheless, a good week’s preparation combined with a boost in confidence will ensure Rotherham go into the game in the right frame of mind and ready to put in a performance.
Indeed, the only change to the starting XV that beat Canterbury sees Jamie Cooke come in at centre as Connor Field moves out onto the wing for Dan Leake.
On the bench and likely to make his Titans debut at some point is hooker Ianto Jones. Ianto arrived at the club during the summer from Sheffield RUFC, but he’s been unable to make his mark due to an injured shoulder. Now fully recovered Jones will be eager to impress.
