Rotherham Titans are prepared for another tough challenge in National 1 when they welcome Caldy to Clifton Lane on Saturday; kick-off is 2pm.
Fresh from a week’s rest following a blank weekend of rugby, Rotherham are raring to go as they look to finish the season on a positive note with just 5 games remaining.
However, with Caldy currently positioned in a relegation spot, they are sure to be fighting tooth and nail as they aim to extend their stay in the division for next season.
Going into the game Titans have made just 2 changes to the starting XV which won 24-20 at Cambridge two weeks ago.
In the backline Alex Dolly comes in at scrum half for Connor Dever, whilst in the pack at tight head prop Rikki Stout comes in for Will Dennis who drops to the bench.
Commenting ahead of the match Rotherham head coach, Joe Barker, explained, “We were delighted to get the win last time out at Cambridge; our defensive effort at the end won us the game and once more the lads showed a huge amount of character.
“That character will be needed again on Saturday when we take on Caldy. They are in a precarious position in the league and they will be fighting hard to maintain their status in National 1 for next year.
“We know they’ve got a good pack of forwards with some big runners and our pitch will probably suit their style of rugby. So we will definitely have to ‘front up’ defensively if we are going to stop them because the driving maul is a weapon they like to use against all teams.
“However, we are determined to finish the season off by winning as many games as possible to finish in the highest position we can. The boys are refreshed mentally and physically and now we’ve got to perform for the full 80 minutes and improved our consistency.”
