This memorable game from the 2013/14 season saw Rotherham host Llanelli RFC at Clifton Lane in round 4 of the British & Irish Cup.
Titans had seven days earlier, in round 3, narrowly beaten the Welsh side 20-16 at Parc y Scarlets and they expected another tough encounter going into this one.
And that’s how it turned out, as Titans took a step closer to a British & Irish Cup quarter final berth, with a dogged display to edge out the resilient West Wales side 20-15.
Titans’ points on the day came via a try apiece from tight head prop Colin Quigley and winger Curtis Wilson, whilst fly half Lloyd Hayes bagged 10 points from the tee.

Post match coaches comments from Lee Blackett:
“You have to give credit to Llanelli, they are a good side and they came here to win. They put everything into the game and we had to work incredibly hard to earn the victory. But we are on a bit of a roll at the moment and we seem to be winning the close ones. At times we are not performing that great, but we are showing glimpses of what we are capable of. I thought Curtis Wilson’s try was a great team effort and there was brilliance within that.
“The spirit within the group was outstanding and the way the boys played for each other; because sometimes when games just aren’t going the way you want, it’s about how much do you want to work for each other that gets you over the line. And these boys are showing that character in bucket loads.
“We are also delighted of where we sit in the group; we stated right from the beginning that we wanted to try and progress into the knock-out stages and going into our final two games our destiny is in our own hands.”
