Rotherham Titans are ready for what will be one of the tougher challenges of the season, when they travel to league leaders Richmond on Saturday; kick-off at the Athletic Ground is 2:30pm.
Whilst there really aren’t any easy games in National 1, some games are tougher than others and Richmond who currently sits at the top the pile on the back of 8 straight wins, certainly fit into the ‘tricky’ echelon.
Nevertheless however, Titans will travel south looking to get something from the game, as their confidence since the turn of the year has grown week on week. That confidence is underpinned on the fact that in that period of 5 games they have scored 19 tries and collected 9 points.
Going into the match Rotherham have made five changes to the 20 man squad which lost at home to Chinnor last time out.
A rotation of the front row sees hooker Harry Newborn and tight head prop Rikki Stout swap bench roles with Jack Bergmanas and Will Dennis respectively. Elliott Ward does the same with Kieran Frost in the second row and there’s a return from injury for number 8 Anthony Maka as he comes in for Lewis Wilson in a reshuffled back row.
Along the backline there’s a return for Morgan Bunting at fly half in place of Sam Hollingsworth. Tom Bacon comes back in on the wing for the injured Dan Leake, Harry Dunne is given the nod over Tom Bullough at centre and at full back George Castledine gets a deserved chance to impress, as Nottingham have called back loan player Tom Benjamin.
Titans: 15 George Castledine, 14 Ben Robbins, 13 Jamie Cooke, 12 Harry Dunne, 11 Tom Bacon, 10 Morgan Bunting, 9 Connor Dever, 1 Harry Whitfield, 2 Harry Newborn, 3 Rikki Stout, 4 Dan Preston-Routledge, 5 Elliott Ward, 6 Ben Waddington, 7 Zak Poole (Capt.), 8 Anthony Maka.
Replacements: 16 Jack Bergmanas, 17 Will Dennis, 18 Kieran Frost, 19 Sam Boxhall, 20 Sam Allan.
