Titans prepared for Bishop’s test

Rotherham Titans are fully prepared for the challenge Bishop’s Stortford are sure to present when they welcome the Hertfordshire based side to Clifton Lane on Saturday for a 2pm kick-off.

Following their creditable performance against Rams last week, which included picking up a bonus point for their narrow 25-20 defeat, Rotherham will be extra keen to grab a win this weekend as they look to reduce the arrears at the bottom of the table.

However, Titans will be acutely aware Stortford will offer plenty of resistance having suffered a 30-14 loss against them earlier in the season at Silver Leys.

Going into the game Rotherham have made just 2 changes to their starting XV which took to the field against Rams.

Along the backline Tom Bullough comes in at outside centre as Jamie Cooke moves to the wing for Tom Bacon who has been recalled by parent club Wasps. Whilst in the pack Toby Williams is given the nod over Harry Whitfield at loose head prop.

Speaking ahead of the match Titans Steve Salvin explained, “The lads’ attitude at Rams last week was spot on and it will need to be again against Bishop’s, because we know they are a very good side and we remember all too well losing to them earlier in the season at their place.

“They have an aggressive set of forwards and they have some fast backs that can cause damage from all over the field and overall they like to play an exciting brand of rugby. So we have prepared this week as usual in that we expect a tough challenge and our attitude will be tuned in for that challenge.”
