Rotherham Titans are delighted to announce Adam Byron as new head coach.
Adam, 40, joins the club from Sheffield RUFC having spent the last 7 years with the Abbeydale based side.
Byron arrives at Clifton Lane with the club in a strong position as Titans sit 5 points behind league leaders Sedgley Park, with a game in hand.
With tomorrow’s scheduled game at Chester being postponed due to an outbreak of Covid in the Titans camp, Byron will have a week to get to know the players before taking on Tynedale at Clifton Lane next Saturday.
Commenting on his appointment Adam said:
“I am incredibly excited to be joining Rotherham Titans as head coach. Rotherham is a club that has a very proud history and has had some exceptionally talented players represent it over the years and I am really looking forward to getting stuck into the job.
“Usually when you join a club they are normally close to the bottom of the league, but not in this case and that represents a certain amount of pressure in itself, but I have just left a club which is at the top of the league so I am use to that sort pressure and it’s a pressure I relish.
“We have massive quality here in terms of the players at Rotherham and we all know what we need to do to achieve our goals for the rest of the season.
“To be working with such a talented bunch is really exciting; they have got us this far already and I’m looking forward to adding a few small details that can maybe take us even further.”
Commenting of Byron’s addition to the club, Titans Director of Rugby, Martin Jenkinson said:
“We are delighted to welcome Adam to the club. We believe he is the right person at this time to take the club forwards and we are very much looking forward to working with him. We believe he will fit in to what we are trying to achieve here at Rotherham.”
