Titans to face massive test at Sedgley Park

Rotherham Titans are expecting a massive challenge this weekend when they travel to the North West to take on second placed side Sedgley Park in round 7 of Nat 2 North; kick-off on Saturday at Park Road is 2:30pm.

The South Yorkshire side will go into the game on the back of a disappointing 41-16 home defeat to table-toppers Fylde last time out and they know this week’s challenge will be every bit as testing.

Meanwhile, Sedgley Park are just 2 points behind leaders Fylde with a perfect record of 6 wins from 6 games and no doubt they will be relishing the visit of Rotherham as they continue their pursuit of promotion.

Going into the game Rotherham have made just one personnel change and three positional changes; all of which come in the back line.

Fraser Jones comes in at full back as Sam Veall moves to fly half and Corben Ollivent drops on to the bench; whilst Luckas Sableman-Blue swaps positions with Jack Taylor, as the latter goes from wing to outside centre.

Looking ahead to the match Titans Adam Byron said:

“I think we’re in for another tough test; we know from our games against them last season what a good side they are and how difficult it is to go to there and get a result.

“They are a team that will have some confidence playing against us. They are a dangerous side in open play and they have an ability to attack you from anywhere on the field and they like to play with a high tempo.

“So we know what to expect and we’ll be looking for a reaction to the result we had last week; we’ve all had a good look at ourselves and we want to try and step up from where we were against Fylde.

“We need to get back to the basics; the frustration of last week was at times we were very good, but we didn’t manage to come away with points when we had the opportunity to do so.

“This week we’ll need to make sure when those opportunities arrive we are clinical in taking them. If we can do that we’ll give ourselves an opportunity to get a result against a very good side.”
