In just over a week’s time Titans’ Chairman Nick Cragg will be trekking to Everest Base camp as part of the PHASE Worldwide Bristol to Base Camp 2023 Expedition.
He will be part of a six person team of supporters from across the UK and, together, we hope to raise over £30,000 towards PHASE Worldwide work in Nepal.
Starting from Lukla on 22 March, the trek to Everest South Base Camp will take 16 days, and during that time he will ascend to an altitude of 17,598 feet and face temperatures as low as -20C.
MESSAGE FROM NICK CRAGG:
Back in 2005, Dr Gerda Pohl, my wife Marie, Jiban Karki and I brainstormed (around a kitchen table) on how we could empower those living in isolated communities in the Nepalese Himalaya with few opportunities... that was the beginning of PHASE Worldwide.
Over the years, the charity has gone on to change the lives of hundreds of thousands of people across Nepal through its integrated and sustainable programmes, supporting people in some of the most remote and rural communities across the country through our sister organisation, PHASE Nepal.
However, there are still countless people in need of support in Nepal, and the work of PHASE Worldwide is as important as ever – particularly in our worldwide economic crisis.
As you probably realise, this charity is very close to my heart and I write to you in the hope that you will either take time to find out more about our work and/or donate via my fundraising page. www.justgiving.com/page/nick-cragg-bristol-to-base-camp.
