The club are delighted to confirm a Titans XV will take on a Sheffield Tigers XV at Clifton Lane on Wednesday 25th September; kick-off under the lights is 7:30pm.
There will be no charge at the gate, so with free entry for all make sure you don’t miss this competitive South Yorkshire tussle.
Titans Harvey Biljon is pleased to have secured the fixture against one of Rotherham’s closest rivals, as he explained:
“We have a big core of players within the squad that are really close to making their first team league appearance and this game gives them an opportunity to get some live rugby under their belts, so they’re ready for when the opportunity presents itself.
“The match will be a full 80-minute game and will give some of our younger players the chance to put their hands up, because they are training really well.
“With it being a new squad I want to learn more and more about the players and what better opportunity than to watch them live in a competitive game and it will be competitive! Sheffield Tigers have a good core squad of players and good links with the university.
“It’s great that we have a club like Sheffield Tigers on our doorstep for games like this. We had two very competitive Nat 2 fixtures last season against them and I’m sure they’re all set for another great season.
“Rotherham is a unique club and I really enjoy meeting and catching up with the supporters and they tell me how much they enjoy coming here and watching rugby. This is a great opportunity for them to see the next generation of Titans.
“This journey that we are going on is an exiting one and these players will play a big part in that journey.”
