Rotherham Titans are delighted to announce the re-signing of back rower Dan Grange ahead of the 2017/18 Championship season.
Grange, 21, joined Rotherham from Yorkshire Carnegie during the summer of 2016, having previously played for his University side Leeds Beckett and Wharfedale RFC, the latter being the club which his father had previously played for.
Whilst representing Leeds Beckett, Dan picked up the biggest prize in University Rugby when Beckett tasted BUCS success as they beat Loughborough 31-23 in the final at Twickenham in 2015. To make the day even sweeter, Dan scored a try in his side’s remarkable come-back victory.
During his time at Carnegie, the Leeds born England representative at England U16 and U17 levels, switched codes and joined up with Super League side Leeds Rhinos.
Coming off the bench Dan made several appearances for the Rhinos and he appeared for them in the loss to Wigan Warriors in the Academy Super League Grand Final.
Grange’s debut season with the Titans last term was a resounding success. Dan was pretty much an ever-present in the Titans match day squad until getting injured around the Christmas period, which then ruled him out for the remainder of the season.
Nevertheless, Dan’s contribution to the team had been recognised in the 11 appearances he made and as a result he earned himself a contract extension at Clifton Lane.
The coaching staff will be eager to see Dan progress further this season and there’s no doubt Dan has the potential to do just that.
