Rotherham Titans are pleased to announce Anthony Posa as new joint head coach for the 2019/20 season.
Anthony, 48, joins the Titans from Bradford & Bingley and will work alongside forwards coach Matt Smith and under Director of Rugby, Martin Jenkinson.
Anthony has an abundance of coaching experience, having been Head Coach of Yorkshire U20s for the past 12 years, winning the National County title on 8 occasions, including the last 5 years in a row.
Currently he also coaches the Croatian National team and their 7s team in their Olympic Qualifiers and is Head Coach at the University of Sheffield.
Anthony’s previous roles include 3 years as head of Doncaster Knights Academy, including 2 promotions with Doncaster Phoenix and 5 promotions with Beverley. He has also coached Biggar in the Scottish Premiership.
Anthony originates from Auckland, New Zealand with a Croatian Heritage and he played his rugby in NZ, Italy and Japan.
Commenting on his appointment Anthony said, “I am extremely excited to be joining Rotherham and to start work with this excellent squad that has been assembled.
“There are a lot of lads here who I have coached in the past who I’m keen to continue working with, but I’m even more keen to meet the other talent in the squad and start getting some ‘hard yards’ under our belts.
Having already shared some ideas with Matt Smith and Martin Jenkinson, we have similar visions on how we want to play the game, so I’m really looking forward to getting going.”
Titans Martin Jenkinson added, “We are extremely fortunate that a coach of Anthony’s ability and experience was available at this time.
“Many of our squad have already worked with Anthony through his links within the Yorkshire set up.
“We were particularly impressed with Anthony’s emphasis on player development.
“With the near completed squad that we are announcing today along with the coaching set up under Matt and Anthony we are in a good position to challenge the National 1 division this year.”
