Rotherham Titans are pleased to announce the addition of back rower Tom Burns to their squad ahead of the 2017/18 Greene King IPA Championship season.
Burns, 24, will arrive at Clifton Lane this summer from National League 2 South side Chinnor RFC.
Born in Derry, Northern Ireland, Tom attended Foyle and Londonderry College and was part of the Ulster Rugby Academy.
Following his stint in the Ulster Academy Tom spent a couple of years in New Zealand, where amongst others he represented Hawkes Bay NZ U20 and Hawkes Bay Saracens.
Arriving back in the UK, Tom has spent his last couple of seasons at Chinnor where he is edging towards 50 appearances for the Oxfordshire based club.
Having penned a deal at Rotherham and standing at 6' 4" and weighing in at 114kg, Burns is sure to add size, physicality and stiff competition to the Titans back row department.
Delighted on his move to South Yorkshire Tom said, “I'm really excited to be joining Rotherham Titans. It's a great club with plenty of history and I’m looking forward to the challenge of next season and getting stuck in.”
